You’ll get to see beautiful views and spend quality time with your loved ones – what’s best is that when you exercise on holiday, you can eat and drink guilt-free!

A common theme from people who have been booking activity holidays is the fact that they love an adventure. Most holidays which are based around being active have a big adventure side to them. So whether you’re trekking up a mountain trail, surfing waves on a sun-soaked beach, or cycling through winding countryside roads, you’ll be experiencing something new, creating memories and will have a huge sense of adventure.
Keeping on top of your fitness whilst having downtime
If at home you are active and have been working towards a challenge, such as a half-marathon, the last thing you want to do when going away is lose your progress. An active holiday allows you to maintain your fitness routine while also enjoying new surroundings and experiences. Part of your day can be continuing your routine, such as going on a run, another part can be doing something new, like hiking, and then you can factor in some downtime, so you get the best of both worlds.

Trying something different is often at the heart of choosing an active holiday. Rather than repeating the same routine year after year, you can experience something that challenges you and gets you moving, just like a surfing holiday does. A more extreme holiday like surfing will take you out of your comfort zone, but in a safe way, where you will learn a completely new skill, which you may have never done before.
